Structural / FEM Engineer
Plaats: Rotterdam
If only you worked in the film industry.... Because everything is possible there! But it is precisely the fact that reality is different that makes you enjoy your work. Because what the customer wants, is that actually possible? You have the answer!
As a Structural / FEM Engineer you are responsible for complex engineering issues in the field of concept / basic designs in ship and yacht industry. Structural analyses, feasibility studies and continuous optimisation are important here. And how can you improve cost efficiency by, for example, reducing weight or making adjustments to the construction procedure?
Your work includes:
- Making FEA calculations, such as strength, fatigue, buckling and stiffness calculations to check and adjust the hull construction and designs.
- While your role is focused on Structural Engineer, it would be a plus if you also have some experience with design and 3D/2D software.
- Structural analysis by means of FEM (ANSYS).
- You will work closely with the naval architects, who will deliver the first concept, as well as the engineers who will do the detail engineering.
You
Thanks to your extensive experience as a Structural/FEM Engineer, you know how to continuously improve designs. When recalculating designs, you always know how to keep innovating within your own discipline. And of course, the increasingly sustainable solutions are central to this. You like to be involved in the entire project, from pre-design to concept drawings and certainly do not skip R&D.
Your background
- A completed Bsc/Msc. in Naval Architecture, Marine engineering or comparable
- 5+ years of experiencewith engineering activities in the Maritime industry
- Software knowledge like Ansys, Femap, AutoCAD, NX
- You also have an excellent command of the Dutch language and sufficient command of the English language, both orally and in writing.
We
